From Paris (Grey) with Love

Reloved Dining Chair

I spotted this lonely old dining chair all on its own in a charity shop. It wasn't anything special but it was a nice solid piece of furniture, just a bit drab and neglected. So I decided to take it home and see if I could do something to cheer it up a bit.

Firstly I took the seat out of the frame and wiped the frame down with a damp cloth to get rid of all the dust and grime.

I  only needed a few basic tools to take the copper upholstery nails out of the seat so that I could remove the old fabric cover and seat pad.

I used Annie Sloan chalk paint in Paris Grey for the frame of the chair, and gave it a coat of clear wax to seal and protect it.

I reused the original seat pad but recovered it using a lovely bright cotton fabric remnant.

And there you have it...a lovely old dining chair given a new lease of life and transformed in just a few easy steps into a bright and cheerful piece of furniture that would look good in any home. A good result I hope you'll agree.
