Coffee Cream

Reloved Coffee Table

Here's something I've been wanting to try my hand at for a while now...a bit of upcycling on a piece of furniture.
So when this poor, shabby little table sat looking at me from the charity shop window I decided this might be the time to give it a go.

Before...
When the table top and shelf were taken off the legs it was clear that they really had seen better days but, despite the water stains and general wear and tear, it was still possible to see potential.
After sanding, the wood grain showed through really well, and two coats of French Oak wood stain finished the job beautifully.
I used two coats of Annie Sloan chalk paint in Old Ochre for the legs and when the table was reassembled I was pleased with how the two colour choices complemented each other.
A final application of wax and a good amount of elbow grease gave the finishing touch.

...After
A very satisfying weekend's work.
I think I might well be trying my hand at something similar very soon...will start trawling the local charity shops and keep you posted.

  1. Thanks for looking and taking the time to comment. Can't wait to find the next unloved item to get started on. Have a feeling this kind of project may be a little addictive!
