Wooden Ornaments

Hand Painted Wooden Hearts

I have been looking forward to sharing these with you.

Painted wooden shapes seem to be all the rage right now and are appearing on craft sites wherever you look.

Having started on a few of my own I can now understand why they are so popular. They are really great fun to make and the possibilities of what you can create are limited only by your imagination.

They can be decorated with small amounts of paint, scraps of fabric, buttons, string and just about any other 'treasures' that we all seem to have in our craft stashes.

After a great deal of searching I have come across a supplier of some really beautiful wooden shapes and, as they are fairly local to me, I decided to give them a go. The quality of the products are very good indeed and the contact form on their website is replied to promptly and with some very helpful advice. Have a look around their beautiful website via the following link.

I have experimented with several different tester paint pots that I already had and have found that each produces a slightly different effect.

For these two hearts I used Dulux Timeless Classics 'Scent Bottle' and ' Bone China'. This paint gives a lovely matt finish and comes in beautiful subtle shades. Check out the following link to have a look at all the shades in the range.
