My latest Stampin' Up cards

New Technique Using Shaving Foam

The pretty background for this card was created using a fun technique that I had never come across before.

  • Squirt some shaving foam into a plastic tray and use a lollipop stick or something similar to remove any gaps or bubbles from the foam.
  • Put a few drops of stamp pad ink onto the surface of the foam.
  • Drag the ink through the foam with the stick to create a swirly pattern.
  • Put the card face down onto the surface of the foam making sure the whole surface is covered. Lift off carefully.
  • Scrape the foam off the card with the edge of the lollipop stick.
  • Wipe the rest of the foam off with a piece of kitchen paper.
  • Stand back and admire the beautiful marble effect pattern you have created.

Card Number Two

A  pretty card made using two of the 'Beautiful Bunch' stamps from the new Stampin' Up Catalogue. The matching punch for the large flower was used to make the lovely embellishment on the front.

Many thanks once again to Jayne of Jayne's Crafty Corner for introducing me to  these lovely new goodies. Already looking forward to the next workshop.

Stampin' Up Project Night

Looking forward to the next one

I think I may be a little bit addicted to Stampin' Up products.

Considering I'd never seen or used any until a couple of months ago that's quite an achievement. I love the way that the papers and inks all co-ordinate, pretty much guaranteeing a beautiful result every time. In fact everything about them screams quality.

The project nights that I go to are run by Jayne of Jaynes Crafty Corner and I'm already looking forward to the next one.

Here are some of the things I was able to create the last time. I was so pleased with them.

Lipstick or Lip Gloss Holder

Mini Handbag or Gift Bag
Decorated tin

The Collection
If you live anywhere near my neck of the woods then the next project night is being held at Creative Connections on Tuesday 15th July at 7pm. If you don't, then you can find details of demonstrators and parties near you on the Stampin' Up Website.

And to top it all the new Stampin' Up catalogue is out now so I'm looking forward to checking out all the new goodies on offer. Whoopee! I'll let you know how I get on.

Stampin' Up

My first experience

Last night I went along for the first time to a Stampin' Up event.

If you enjoy making cards or indulging in papercraft of any kind I strongly recommend you go along to one of these events if you ever get the chance.
The demonstrator at the event was a lovely lady called Jayne of Jaynescraftycorner who brought along plenty of examples of cards and other items made using Stampin' Up products.

The range of goodies includes beautiful co-ordinating papers, stamps, inks and pens, as well as punches, ribbons, embossing equipment, buttons and brads to name but a few.

The Stampin' Up slogan is 'Inspire, Create, Share' and Jayne certainly did all three.

She demonstrated how to make a beautiful birthday card and then gave each of us a pack of materials so that we could have a go at making one of our own.

It was a very enjoyable way to spend an evening. We all had great fun. You can probably imagine the giggling and chatter that went on while eight of us were trying to put together our creations.

Mine turned out rather well I think. But, to be honest, the products are such good quality and are so easy to use that you can't really go far wrong.

At the end of the evening we had an opportunity to look through the current Stampin' Up catalogue (A papercrafter's sweetie shop) and order any products that had grabbed our attention during the evening.

My friend received a gift for hosting the party and earned credits to spend on Stampin' Up products. Very worthwhile.

Also available via the website are digital downloads and online classes. So much inspiration.
