Contemporary Craft Festival 2014

There's Still Time

The sun came out and so did the crowds at The Contemporary Craft Festival, Bovey Tracey today.

Marquees containing stands from over 200 of the country's finest designer makers were on view, and those I spoke to were all happy to chat about their work and their inspirations.

There were also craftspeople at work demonstrating many traditional crafts, including basket making, weaving, sculpting and woodwork.

There was plenty on hand for the children too: a Punch and Judy show (that's the way to do it!), sand play and a marquee full of activities including papercraft and weaving looms...and all for free.

Visitors were able to sit outside in the sunshine and enjoy a lunch bought from one of the large range of mobile catering businesses that were there and listen to live music being performed at the mobile bar.

Oh, and one very important point I think I should mention, they had proper loos that were very clean and tidy.

If this all sounds like the idea of a good day out to you then there's still time to go along. The Fair is open from 10am until 5pm tomorrow (Sunday 8th June). It comes highly recommended.
