Introduction

I suppose, being my very first blog, that I should start with a little bit about myself and how I got to where I am today...

I live in Devon on the edge of Dartmoor with my two grown up children.
My Grandmother taught me to knit when I was eight years old. She had probably run out of other ways to keep me and my younger sister out of mischief!
I took to it like a duck to water and have been knitting pretty much ever since, although I do enjoy plenty of other making and doing activities too. These days my knitting projects seem to be linked with ideas around recycling (knitting with different materials) and felting, and an amazing charity I have become involved with called Knit a Square (KAS) who provide knitted blankets, clothes and toys to South African AIDS orphans.

I hope via this blog to be able to share some of these interests with you and maybe to inspire others to have a go.
