Happy New Year and Welcome to The Year of The Sheep

I may be a little early but The Chinese year of the Sheep (Goat) 2015 will start on February 19th, 2015 (according to the lunar calendar) and I’m happy to say that the Chinese believe it should bring inspiration and creativeness to us all.

If you were born in 1931, 1943, 1955, 1967, 1979, 1991, 2003 or 2015 then you were born in the year of the sheep. And who wouldn’t want to be a sheep?

The sheep is the most artistic sign of the Chinese zodiac. He is gentle and mild-mannered. He is creative and elegant and has a highly developed aesthetic sense. He loves beautiful things and nature and has an eye for design and art. The sheep makes a great craftsperson or artisan. Peace-loving, trustworthy and faithful, the sheep can get along with almost everyone.

I am a passive onlooker
I let bygones be bygones
Goodness brings me fortune
I understand the meaning of giving
My cup is never empty
I am loyal and just and in others I trust
I AM THE SHEEP

This all sounds very exciting and encouraging for all us making and doing types doesn't it? Oh, and I came across this at 'world of wool' for all you lovers of fluffy stuff. To celebrate Chinese New Year of The Sheep they are offering 5% off all natural tops and fleeces throughout February.
My biggest recommendation however would be to pay Kaeravel Krafts a visit. This is run by a very talented and energetic friend of mine who spins, dyes, felts, knits, crochets and sells all things fluffy, silky and woolly. Pay her page a visit. She is always happy to pass on her many skills and give advice when needed.

Wishing you all a very happy and productive Year of The Sheep.
